If you are going to travel to Bari in Italy, then why don’t you cook yourself some of the local dishes before you go? Therefore you will get a taste for the culinary delights that await you when you get there.
For instance, why not try the wonderful recipe for Ragu alla Barese from this wonderful site called Culinaria Italia. This recipe is for a common “Sunday lunch” in Bari. I have tried it and it truly is amazing, so go and have a look to get your taste buds tingling!
Also, at the BicycleItaly site, you can find a lot of information about all the local produce and read above the magnificent olive groves. And I must say that hiring a bike is an excellent way to see Bari too. But maybe not quite as good for us that love a lot of Italian food though!
I recently found this very in depth food site entitled Oyster Food and Culture. It’s an absolute delight – and guess what? I am pleased to say that there are many mentions of Bari in here. There is a fine description of Puglia mozzarella. Please visit Burrata – Italian Creamy Magic.
I hope this whets your appetite for visiting Bari. It certainly makes me want to go back as soon as possible.
